Description

Icelandic fisherman Pall Palsson has been a man of the sea for 36 years. He says sleep apnea makes it difficult to concentrate at his already-difficult job. "The deck is slippery, so you need to watch your feet. One wrong move and you could be over the edge," Palsson says. Research shows that nearly half of Icelandic fishermen suffer from sleep-related disorders such as chronic fatigue and apnea.

Despite proven effective treatments, more than a million people ignore the advice of doctors and don't use the devices prescribed to help them sleep and breathe better. It's a problem that education and technology are now beginning to solve.

The film is in Icelandic, with English subtitles.
