For Swim, I felt like the spot was so full of joy, I just wanted to try to convey that feeling you get when it’s nighttime in summer, and you’ve been in the water awhile and it’s so comfortable and warm and it’s better to stay in and swim around than get out and feel the night air. So just trying to create a fluffy pillow of sound and make their movements feel tactile and joyful. We did a pool recording session and then used a little eq and a bit of gentle distortion to give a nod to that collective idea of what underwater sounds like, and to get that floaty buzzy feel.
