Description

JetBlue went back in time — to the golden age of air travel — to make tickets available from New York to Palms Springs for 1960s prices.

We opened the JetBlue Time Travel Agency, a travel agency reminiscent of the past, in today’s New York.

Execution

JetBlue’s Time Travel Agency was located in SoHo, NYC. A vacant storefront was transformed into an immersive pop-up experience inspired by mid-century design. With reimagined JetBlue branding, The Time Travel Agency was a reflection of 1960s agencies.

Customers were immersed in a set production that sourced only authentic materials of the era: rotary phones, typewriters, desk calendars, etc., as well as theatrically trained actors who dressed and spoke from a different era.

Before meeting with a travel agent to learn about Palm Springs’ modern attractions, customers could flip through old Time magazines, read the local neighborhood rag, The Wooster Street Journal, or burn the time with entertaining giveaways, eventually sitting down with a travel agent to plan a trip to Palm Springs for 1960s prices.

Outcome

Over a two-day period, the Time Travel Agency garnered over 2.08MM PR impressions and welcomed over 600 customers, who, on average, spent over 30 minutes inside the experience.
