Description
The film continues the story of Marcus Fenix, the star of Gears of War, and introduces his son, JD Fenix, cross-cutting between the two worlds - the world of recovery, post war, the family starting a life with Marcus, planting and carving initials in a tree and the flash-forward to the now grown son, running, from a new menace. Gradually, as the commercial expands, we realise that the two worlds - the bucolic evening light and the somber menace of the burning forest - are actually the same place separated by 25 years, as the fully grown son runs past the house and finds refuge behind the same tree his father planted we see his initials carved in the wood as the muzzle of his gun flashes against the bark...the son is running to save his family and history.
