Description

It is unlikely to find non alcoholic beers in most of Argentinian bars. It is still not a very common thing in our country. If you go to have some cold ones with your friends to a bar or restaurant and you are driving you are going to have to settle with water o colas. There was no option for beer lovers and responsible drivers, so we created one. We had the opportunity of rewarding them in a very unique way that has never been done before. Non-alcoholic beers existed before but never with the logo of an automotive company. And besides the brand

Execution

First we teamed with a local brewery to understand the process of making a non alcoholic beer. We wanted it to taste exactly like having a regular beer. And after some trial sessions we achieved a very similar flavor. We first did a batch of 500 liters and delivered it to the most cool bars from Buenos Aires and offered it for free to all the attendees that went by car, they just had to show us the key. We had a wide acceptance and soon we had to make 500 liters again. The second time we also delivered the beer to some restaurants.

Outcome

The Volkswagen beer presence in bar and restaurants was raising some eyebrows and waking up the behavior we were expecting: 20% less of alcoholic beverages were served the day we presented the beer. People now had an interesting option and they were accepting it. We were out of Volkswagen Beers one our after the bar was open, and we had more than 200 bottles. More bars and more restaurants want to have the first 0% beer made especially for drivers.
