OVERVIEW

Description

This was a branded content piece for BP, the official sponsors of the National Portrait Awards for the last 25 years.

The purpose of this documentary was to take the viewer on a journey of a painting from the canvas to the gallery.

We followed the artists, their sitters and the judges, over a 6-month period, while they prepared their entries for submission.

Filmed on location in London, Malaga, New York, Florida and Frankfurt, we were given a window into the judging process, the preparation for the exhibition and the announcement of the winners at the final ceremony.

Throughout the journey, we had a powerful insight into the diversity of the artists, their personalities, their subjects and how they deal with the emotions of submitting their work to be judged.

The aim of this documentary was to truly capture the importance of the competition and its attraction to many around the world.
