Write a short summary of what happens in the film
Our ultimate goal was to look at a typical boy’s experiences through a new lens, so every decision was meant to showcase this personal perspective. The camera work was meant to feel fluid and capture the naturalism of the performances off, while giving the audience a sense of closeness to the characters. Since the boy’s journey started quite young and innocently, we wanted to start with more natural light through the first few frames and gradually transition to a more artificial source to help showcase feelings that had now become more manufactured by his upbringing. The lighting colour schemes were each meant to reflect a specific range or type of emotion that our boy was experiencing. It helps set an overall tone, which starts with spark but eventually leads down a darker path.
Tell the jury anything relevant about the cinematography.
