The home for the blind Mühlehalde in Zürich is the home for old, blind persons. The task was to collect desperately needed donations.

Outcome

The reaction to the campaign exceeded all expectations: The amount of donations rised by +64,7% to CHF 2'341'051.-. And also a lot of new people decided to become donators (+54,9%). All this in a difficult economical time, in which donations were generally decreasing. Many newspapers, magazines and TV stations reported the 'original' donation action and multiplied the advertising effect.

Solution

The rather old residents of the home were acting as the stars of the campaign. In two touching TV-spots, they enthusiastically sang the world hits of two blind world stars. In the first spot, Stevie Wonder’s 'I just called to say I love you' and in the second spot, Andrea Bocelli’s 'Con te partiro'. Of course their version did not sound as professional as the original. But it came straight from the heart. Conclusion: Not everyone who’s blind can earn millions singing. Thank you for your donation. Home for the Blind Zürich.
