At a neighborhood beauty salon, our hero, the rapper Cardi B, gets her hair done while chatting with another patron. Suddenly, everyone in the salon notices that the shoelaces of Cardi’s Reebok Club C sneakers are untied. Instead of reaching down to tie them, she looks down and magically wills her fingernails to start growing.

As the salon workers and patrons watch in awe, the nails snake down the hero’s legs toward her shoes. They reach the laces and tie them into a perfect bow before retracting back into the hero’s fingers. At the conclusion of this bizarre event, everyone in the salon resumes what they were doing as if nothing just happened.

Cardi B is a very popular, Grammy award winning rap artist and a partner to Reebok. She is known for her outspoken personality, her openness with her fans, and her flamboyant style. Part of that iconic style includes intricately detailed, colorful fingernails. Though she has appeared in other ads before, it’s always in a rather expected way – as a glamorous celebrity cameo. Nails treats Cardi in a totally different way by putting her in an ordinary situation, at a neighborhood beauty salon casually chatting with another patron. The film then takes something expected about Cardi B i.e. her nails, and does something completely unexpected with them.
