Description

Spanish company Endesa is planning a hydroelectric project that would involve running 2,300 kilometres of power lines across the unspoilt scenery of Patagonia in Chile. Greenpeace Spain needs to ask its members for financial donations towards its campaign against this.

Execution

Greenpeace shows in a highly visual way how together, members and organisation, can make Endesa disappear from Patagonia. By pulling on a thread, the pylon embroidered over the picture of the Patagonian scenery is gradually unstitched, leaving the landscape free of power lines.

Outcome

The results of the mailing exceeded expectations. The mailing was sent to 37,500 current members, 500 donors and 3,000 lapsed members. Donations increased by 30%, giving a big boost to Greenpeace’s fight against the hydroelectric threat.
