Execution
To help the Red Cross help those in flood ravaged Australia, we created the Flooded House idea to bring the impact of the devastation closer to home.
The Flooded House was launched on Australia Day (a national holiday) on Sydney Harbour’s busiest day to have maximum impact while thousands of Sydney-siders were out celebrating on and by the harbour near the site.
The flooded house was a timely reminder that while there was still much to celebrate on our national day there were people who had lost everything. And there were many many Australians out there who were hurting and needed our help.
Outcome
Millions of Australians visit Sydney Harbour on this day and the festivities attract national television coverage.
The Flooded House was reported on news reports and blogs reaching even more people. Even better there was a spike in donations on Australia Day.
