It would be cool if you could play football at Burger King. Turfing the entire restaurant is a bit much, but we bet our “superfans” would love to play Finger Football! Design and produce Finger Football fields, goalposts, fold-your-own BK/NFL-branded footballs and a set of irreverent “rules” to encourage play while dining. Utilize in-restaurant “stadiums” to garner PR through the development of local and national tournaments.

Outcome

Burger King and the NFL embraced the Finger Football concept immediately. We produced 94,800 table mat “stadiums” and 276,500 table tent “goalposts” to put in play at 7,900 restaurants nationwide. The materials were showcased in media events featuring consumers competing with NFL players in eight cities nationwide. The national tournament culminated in the Championship Game in NYC, where the winner received two tickets to Super Bowl XL. BK Finger Football received national coverage on both ESPN and ESPN2 and garnered over 47 million media impressions on television and in print throughout the tournament and four-month program.
