Execution

Sonochrome is a mobile application that transforms color into sounds in real time.

The application is aimed at developing synesthesia, a phenomenon in which stimulation of one sense is experienced in another. This way, the blind user is not only getting information - but is able to truly experience colors, to hear them as a music tone.

Apart from identifying 16 million individual colors, the application enables the user to hear chords that correspond to more complex pictures, extending and enriching their experience of the world. This way, a blind person can experience a view on a river… or a sunrise… or a painting.

Outcome

Free and available to all, Sonochrome is there to change the world for the blind, making it a more colorful place - one download at the time.

Android and IOS versions are in the final stages of development and will soon be available for free.
