Description

Can’t Silence a Cure for AIDS

For the past 3 decades, the cultural conversation has been dominated with talk of managing AIDS with drugs. However, the technology for a cure exists, but no one is talking about it. The silence around a cure is literally killing us. We need to stand up and make some noise about it.

We ignited a social media campaign that urged people to Shout Cure AIDS.

#Shout Cure AIDS was about shouting your own personal reason for why the world needs a cure now.

Execution

-All media was owned, earned, and shared. The campaign was executed across 3 main initiatives: social, fundraising, and grass roots

-Branding established the voice, the look, and the architecture for the RFTCA

-researchfoundationtocureaids.org told the in-depth story of the development of a cure and RFTCA’s mission

-Facebook offered a bulletin board for the RFTCA message

-Instagram amplified the message with shareable content (#SHOUT CURE AIDS)

-Twitter kept the conversation alive

-Fundraising events (Avenue Cure) provided a platform for cultivating relationships with donors and supporters (Perez Hilton, Alan Cumming, Miss Peppermint and more)

-Symposia established credibility with the scientific community

The Cure Roundtable gave voice to people from today’s AIDS community, many of them non-traditional and under the radar, including caregivers, artists, prison system experts, women and mothers.
