Description

Every one in three children is a left-behind child in rural China. The number has exceeded 60 million. Their parents work in cities, half of them only back home in Lunar New Year once in a few years. This Lunar New Year, Coca-Cola will make these children’s wishes come true by bringing their parents back home. We recorded the previous reunion moments of three families from Longsheng, Guangxi Province, China.

Execution

Execution: A viral video that tells a reunion story of 3 migrant children families in Chinese New Year time. They live in rural areas of China and their parents work in cities, half of them only back home for the Lunar New Year once in a few years. This Lunar New Year, Coca-Cola will make these children’s wishes come true by bringing their parents back home. We recorded the previous reunion moments of three families from Longsheng, Guangxi Province, China.

Outcome

Results: Since the video was released virally on two major Chinese video sites: Youku and iQIYI, it has received 4.8 million online views during Chinese New Year. And then it even got picked up by 4 provincial satellite television commercial stations and aired for free, receiving 14 million impressions and generated free advertising value worth more than 2 million USD.
