Description

The Movistar HD Tour travelled to the biggest malls in eleven of Colombia’s largest cities. Each weekend, a 5 meter augmented reality screen and interactivity area was assembled in that city for the two-day event. There, kids and parents could virtually interact with their favourite dinosaur, dance with giant paper cut out dolls, feed a dolphin or walk with an astronaut as if they were on the moon too!

Videos of each event were posted on YouTube. Local TV, radio, handouts, Twitter, Facebook and newscasts built the “You got to see this!” buzz that echoed throughout every mall.

Execution

The Movistar HD Tour travelled to the biggest malls in eleven of Colombia’s largest cities. Each weekend, a 5-metre augmented reality screen and interactivity area was assembled in that city for the two-day event. There, kids and parents could virtually interact with their favorite dinosaur … dance with giant paper cut out dolls … feed a dolphin … or walk with an astronaut as if they were on the moon too! And all these images played out in full HD for the mall patrons.

Outcome

- More than 17m were impacted through the media and the 11 events (population of Colombia is 47m).

- More than 8m children and parents interacted with the event.

- Average time spent with the brand at the events: 2 minutes per person.

- The event catapulted sales of Movistar TV HD, which were frozen prior to the activities.

- This event helped many to understand, for the first time, the power and benefits of HD TV, elevating Movistar to the top of their list for future consideration.
