Description
Dillan is autistic and non-verbal. For most his life, few believed he had anything to share with the outside world. But deep down, he’s always had a voice. With the help of his iPad and its built-in accessibility features, Dillan is now able to communicate his thoughts and ideas. In this film, we watch Dillan tell his own story about what it’s like to live with autism – his voice shattering the world’s misunderstandings and preconceived notions and about what autism actually is. Dillan types his thoughts – word by word, line by line – and breaks down commonly held stereotypes to help us understand that autistic people aren’t just shells. As Dillan says, “So many people can’t understand that I have a mind. But now you can hear me.” His words challenge us to change our thinking and realize, “We’re capable of so much if we just open our minds"
