Description

In this film, we see Dr. Yoshiuki Sankai of Cyberdyne in Tokyo, Japan, talk about HAL— an assistive robotic exoskeleton of his own design that is helping to re-teach the brains of paralyzed patients to walk again.

After a year of therapy with HAL robot, one such patient—who was once paralyzed from the neck down—can now move his legs, arms, and head. And, for the first time since the accident that paralyzed him, has hope that he will one day learn to walk again.
