Description

In order to promote the movie "He Named Me Malala", we created a series of ads using woodcut techniques that show the story of pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai. Malala was a 15 year old active militant in Pakistan when taliban soldiers stopped the school bus where she was and shot her in the face. Her fight for the girls’ rights led her to be announced, at 17 years old, as the co-recipient of the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize. Like the engraved wood, her story and her words were built in solid surface, and now inspire girls all around the world to draw their own future. Each image was created by hand and illustrates famous quotes of Malala. We didn’t use any digital retouch. The artist is José Saccone, one of the biggest promises of the argentinian art.
