There is a Chinese saying that our body belongs to our parents. We don’t mark it in any way as a sign of respect. Therefore, tattoos are still taboo in China. Lin Dan is China’s biggest sports hero yet he’s got 5 tattoos on his body. Naturally, this stirs controversy as he’s supposed to be a role model. After in-depth interviews, we found that there are meaningful stories behind his tattoos, each an indelible mark of his spirit and being. By allowing his tattoos to tell us his story, we developed it into a film that looks into Lin Dan.

A complex mix of computer animation and live action. We shot the real life talents first then with CGI, created the fantastical world before blending them together by compositing in post-production.
