Execution

The Invisible Vending Machine was installed on a busy street in Cihangir area. Known for its numerous posh restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs Cihangir was determined as a location that couples would definitely prefer to be in on Valentine’s Day. The ‘Invisible Vending Machine’ was installed piece by piece by a construction crew that also created a fake wall in order to hide the device. Remote operated system would come time when a couple passed by, playing preloaded animations and then ask for their names. Once the couple told their names, Coke Cans with their names were dispensed.

Outcome

The device quickly became the centre of attention and at the day of installation 113 were couples were served.

Several couples were filmed interacting with the machine and the film created from the footage was seeded to several Turkish video sharing sites as well as YouTube and DailyMotion. Over 500,000 people saw the Invisible Vending Machine and the happiness of the couples on the sharing sites. The numbers reached 200.000 on DailyMotion and YouTube combined. The video was also shared on Facebook, reaching 1,5M people with 7K likes. Total social buzz showed 88% positive response.
