Description
A new KIA Sportage drives down a street in the 'burbs. Blaring from its open windows is Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five’s 1982 hit “The Message”.
We can now see the driver – a regular guy in his mid-30s. He clearly feels young and ‘with it’ driving along in his confident SUV with bold hip-hop blaring… and he obviously loves the track – in fact, he knows all the words.Next to him sits Grandmaster Melle Mel and in the rear sits Scorpio (the musicians who wrote and recorded “The Message” back in 1982.)They perform their song as our hero sings along with them. Our driver arrives at home and pulls into the driveway. He turns the car off, stopping the music. His wife is gardening in the yard. She looks at him, and with a tone that suggests he often forgets things when he’s caught up in his music, says:Wife: Did you get the nappies? Our husband turns to Grandmaster Melle Mel next to him and, as if to suggest it was his job to remind him, says:Husband: The nappies. From the wife’s POV, we can see that neither Grandmaster Melle Mel, nor Scorpio is actually in the car.End line: Grow up, not old. The all-new Kia Sportage.
