Background

(Target Audience: Consumer/Patient)

In research many people with Type 2 diabetes said: With all the confusing rules, it can feel like you’re not allowed to do anything. Life's one big ‘no.’

We dramatized this truth to reveal the transformative power FreeStyle Libre systems can have, turning ‘no’ into ‘know’

Execution

Multiple cameras, angles and techniques were used to create this fast-paced romp through the world full of “no.” Every choice was purposefully considered and intended to heighten each character’s emotion in a given moment.

For example, extreme close-ups and dolly zooms were used to create the feeling of isolation those with Type 2 diabetes often relate to. An entire set was Gimble-rigged, not just to toss a character from one room to another, but to highlight the confusion that patients often experience with the conflicting, ever changing rules of diabetes management. Overall, the result of these choices is a hyperbolic metaphor for how people with diabetes feel: constantly bombarded with unknown obstacles and a manic desire to find an answer.
