This edit was completed during the Covid lockdown. We received footage from thousands of Microsoft employees from around the world and the entirety of the film is created from the moments they captured.
The sheer volume of content was overwhelming and the challenge of editing together a compelling story with an emotional arc was daunting. The clips were mostly filmed on phones and at all levels of quality and formats.
The whole purpose of the film was to show the uniqueness of each individual at Microsoft, but also to show how they are all inspired by a common goal to empower the world. The edit had to show this interconnectedness in the way the story flowed in the content of the spoken word, the visuals, and the day to night progression of the story.
