Background

In February 2022, Russia's attack on Ukraine begins. Directly affected by this conflict in our private circle, we decided at the beginning of March to make a film that would move the Ukrainian situation to Paris in order to raise awareness of the situation among Europeans. Shot and post-produced in only three days, and broadcasted anonymously, the film quickly became viral and out of control once posted on social networks, to finally make the rounds of the world, the medias and trigger extremely diverse reactions.

Execution

The film depicts what it would be like if Paris were to fall victim to a military attack. Famous landmarks like the Eiffel Tower are seen to be destroyed by missiles from fighter jets through mobile phone video.

Outcome

We posted the film on a Friday late in the day. Quickly reposted by the Ukrainian government on Twitter, social networks went wild all weekend and the video quickly made the headlines of all the TV news around the world. Reactions were diverse, some screamed about government propaganda, and others - particularly French expatriates - thought the video was real. Two days after publishing the project, a person claimed on French TV that it was legitimate and took advantage of the buzz to make his communication. Today "Paris Attack" has accumulated tens of millions of views on all media and has been selected for the 2022 YDA.
