Background

The spot offers a crash-course on concussions through a comedic lens. An awareness advocate after suffering a concussion herself, Rebel brilliantly debunks concussion myths while wreaking havoc on set, accidentally releasing a python, shooting flames and launching a man into the air.

Idea

The spot offers a crash-course on concussions through a comedic lens. An awareness advocate after suffering herself, Rebel brilliantly debunks concussion myths while wreaking havoc on set, accidentally releasing a python, shooting flames and launching a man into the air.

Strategy

The strategy was to make this spot as action packed as we could, as well as get a message across for Concussion Awareness Now. Rebel Wilson is an advocate for this cause, as she suffered from a concussion herself while working on set and wanted to inform people about getting checked if you hit your head. We had minimal time with Rebel on set, so we had to be very strategic about how we spent our time and mapped out our schedule for the one shoot day that we had.

Execution

The execution went flawlessly. It was necessary to add a pre light / prep day in order to achieve all the shot’s necessary to tell the full story. Our shoot day went by, and we were able to shoot all the content that we needed to make this PSA amazing. We are proud to be a part of this spot and to partner with Abbott and the creatives, John Maxham and Vince Cook!

Outcome

The results turned out great. Concussion Awareness Now successfully launched, along with Rebel Wilson’s help to spread the word to her eleven million followers. We are shortlisted at the One Show!
