Description
During United Nation’s celebration of World Environment Day last year, TBWA Worldwide launched the Carbon Neutral Challenge as part of its Corporate Responsibility Program. TBWA offices worldwide including the local agency were tasked with generating awareness for the TBWA Worldwide program.
During Christmas when the country’s carbon footprint increases, the local agency turned its back on plastic crates and designed a reusable shopping bag for its annual giveaways for distribution to its employees, clients and industry partners. Reminding everyone that recycling is the easiest way to reduce carbon footprint, a variation of the mobius loop or recycling symbol was created for the handle of the reusable shopping bag.
Execution
The local agency distributed its annual Christmas giveaways in a specially designed reusable bag instead of traditional plastic crates.
Outcome
The bag carried the message of carbon neutrality, generating substantial PR awareness for the TBWA Worldwide program. Just recently, one of the country’s largest chains of shopping malls has approached the local agency, expressing interest in commercially producing the bag and offering it as an alternative to their plastic shopping bags.
