Background
On February 12th 2023, Rihanna was set to perform at the first ever Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show. This trailer celebrated the return of one of the world’s greatest artists to music’s biggest stage after a 7 year-long hiatus, silencing the critics who doubted she’d ever come back.
The task was to create a trailer that would build anticipation for the first ever Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show and reintroduce Rihanna to the stage after a 7 years hiatus.
Our objective was to generate maximum brand awareness, organic reach and excitement around Rihanna’s return in the weeks leading up to the Super Bowl.
Execution
After years away from the spotlight, the media was questioning if Rihanna would ever return to music. We looked through thousands of interviews and articles about Rihanna to find the most impactful comments about her absence. These were used to create a fast-paced montage that told a years-long story of the world waiting — condensed into 30 seconds. All culminating with her triumphant return.
