OVERVIEW

Execution

Although people all over the world wanted to celebrate the birth of Prince George, there was no way of getting messages to the Royal Family directly. We came up with a way to enable people to use Google+ say congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

By simply +1’ing a post, the user’s profile photo was added to an online greetings card. To increase virality of the card, users could add their own message if they reshared the post publically. After signing, they could then search for themselves and their friends to find their faces in the card. g

Outcome

The post about the card received more engagement than any other post in Google+ history; reaching +3M users, and receiving +55,000 interactions, whilst generating a huge amount of PR buzz around one of the busiest news events of 2013. The online greetings card has since been transformed into a beautiful book that will live on in the Royal Archives.
