Overview

Background

Reducing carbon emissions is a consensus reached by many countries and enterprises worldwide. However, it seems very distant from ordinary people's lives, and few people understand how enterprises control carbon emissions through the power of digitization.

As a leading enterprise software supplier globally, SAP has over a decade of experience serving global customers in the field of sustainable development, using innovative digital solutions to help businesses precisely control carbon emissions.

How to demonstrate SAP's capabilities in sustainable digital solutions to Chinese enterprises and the public? At the same time, how can we encourage more people to adopt a low-carbon lifestyle and join the global carbon reduction ranks?

Idea

SAP teamed up with NBA to build and operate a zero-carbon basketball court in the heart of Beijing, allowing people to understand how SAP's sustainable digital solutions work and try a low-carbon lifestyle influenced by the stadium.

Strategy

By establishing a zero-carbon basketball court, we aim to transform it into a compelling public relations topic. This initiative is designed to not only familiarize existing and potential SAP clients with the capabilities of SAP's sustainable digital solutions but also to reach a broader audience, including basketball enthusiasts and the general public. The objective is to promote awareness of digital carbon reduction methods and encourage the adoption of a lower-carbon lifestyle.

Execution

Through digital twin technology, we visualize the stadium's construction and operation, displaying carbon data via the green ledger and zero-carbon control tower. The stadium's completion is celebrated with a grand, low-carbon launch event, featuring renewable design and zero-carbon conferences attended by media and basketball star Yi Jianlian. Yi Jianlian also participates in a promotional video, leveraging his influence to educate on sustainable solutions. To engage the public, a low-carbon ticket purchase program is introduced, offering discounts based on eco-friendly transportation choices. Inside the stadium, a bottle recycling device calculates carbon reductions, providing incentives with ticket discounts. Our aim is to not only showcase our sustainable approach but also encourage widespread carbon reduction participation.

Outcome

CARBON REDUCTION IN STADIUM CONSTRUCTION 4,763 KG

CARBON REDUCTION DURING STADIUM CONSTRUCTION 900KG /MONTH

BRAND EXPOSURE 84,766,746
