Description
TEDx held its inaugural global summit, dubbed TEDxSummit in Doha, Qatar. We were tasked with designing a giveaway item that would remind the delegates of their TEDx experience and create a talking point with their peers even long past the event.
Execution
We drew inspiration from a symbol that stood for a great idea - the light bulb, but given that it’s for TEDx, we added a twist to it that placed TEDx in the centre of every idea.We created bulbs fitted with filaments spelling out 'TEDx'. When switched on, it brings to life TED’s tagline 'ideas worth spreading' through a visual light spectacle.Even the packaging was specially designed to not only be economical but functionally ingenious, transforming from a box to a lamp stand.
Outcome
Over 700 TEDx delegates received the bulbs and made it the talk of the conference. The excited delegates shared pictures of the bulb online through Facebook and Twitter, which made the bulb live up to TED’s tagline of ideas worth spreading.
