We begin in the midst of an emotional hug between two men, on a residential neighbourhood sidewalk. As soft, instrumental music plays, the viewer begins to wonder what caused this seemingly never-ending embrace. We then notice that one of the men is equally as confused as we are, while the other’s expression is filled with gratitude.

As the camera pans out, we reveal a curbside garbage truck, and, finally, the cause of this outpouring of appreciation: a GLAD garbage bag. Abruptly, the music stops and we hear the rumble of the idling truck. Our garbage collector is jolted back into reality and quickly tosses the bag into the back of the truck.

As the spot closes, the music returns and our garbage collector rides away on the back of his vehicle, waving a last heartfelt goodbye. A voiceover explains it all: You can’t help but appreciate the strength of GLAD.
