Globally, there is a trend towards simple meals, with customer preferences shifting from formal "fine" dining to casual comfort food. There is a similar trend in fashion, consumers are moving away from high-end looks and choosing more casual and comfortable styles. Many people access food related information online everyday and share photos of what they cook and eat through SNS.
Execution
UNIQLO RECIPE launched on October 8th and is still available for free worldwide, compatible for both iPhone and iPad.
Outcome
As a result, UNIQLO RECIPE was selected as “App Store Best of 2013” by Apple in 9 countries and ranked No.1 in Food & Drink category on the App Store in 29 countries including the US.
