Description
On her first day of school, a kid Dreamer imagines all the great things that can happen in the new school year and beyond, only to be brought down each time by the Womp Womp, a naysaying curmudgeon who is a personification of her self-doubt.
Despite the Womp Womp’s negativity, the Dreamer experiences her biggest aspirations at school that day – she becomes an inventor, a gourmet chef, star athlete, and even the president.
Just as the Womp Womp starts to get to her, she ultimately finds her place at school when she meets a fellow dreamer who becomes her new best friend. Together, they are unlimited.
Execution
Launched on Old Navy’s YouTube page July 31, the video featured seven YouTube stars in cameo roles. These stars promoted the video to their fans by creating content on their own channels, reaching over 9 million subscribers. The song 'Unlimited' was also available on iTunes, with proceeds benefiting Old Navy’s charitable partner, the Boys and Girls Club.
Outcome
During the month of August, 'Unlimited' received over 5 million views, with 30,000+ likes and 5,000+ comments.
It also received 100% positive sentiment on Twitter.
It was the most-viewed Back to School brand video on YouTube for 2014.
