Background
Lenny Kravitz (father) and Zoë Kravitz (daughter) are both successful entertainers. Their family is from the Bahamas where they both travel in this film. Lenny also lives in the Bahamas where they visit. They talk about those in their family who came before them (in the Bahamas) and reflect specifically about the continued legacy of Zoë’s great grandfather. They visit Zoë’s great grandfather’s home in the last scene of the film.
Execution
Lenny Kravitz and Zoë Kravitz journey back to where it all began, paying respect to the generations who paved the way for them to become who they are today. Amidst the backdrop of the local Bahamian landscape, a place of their familial and cultural heritage, we learn about their shared journeys, and how they each carry the Kravitz legacy. We hear firsthand about the heritage that Lenny supports, and how Zoë continues to express it both through music and film, specifically illuminating the story of Zoë’s great grandfather and the inception of a world of possibility that suddenly opened up for generations to come.
