Background

After six years since its inception, GR has finally achieved eight championships in the top category of global motorsports this year. This brand movie has been created as a testament to the quality of that accomplishment.

Idea

Why do humans feel an innate sense of wildness in industrial products like cars?

For the first time as a sports car brand, we answered that question using the power of film.

Strategy

As technologies such as autonomous driving continue to advance, true motorsports fans want to move away from cars using CG and digital enhancements. Instead, they want to immerse themselves in the authentic and analog sensations of a car.

In response to this global fan insight, we have taken on the challenge of delivering this experience through the power of film.

Execution

Our significant challenge was not relying on digital techniques like zoom-in used in racing films but rather emphasizing how closely the racing car and the camera could physically interact. It was a collaboration of precision driving skills at the millimeter level and shooting techniques with the same precision.

The film portrays the movements of industrial products (the cars), as if they are beautiful wild animals living in the natural world, creating an immersive experience in the footage.

Outcome

After one week of release, the view count reached 60 million views.

Car enthusiasts worldwide were captivated by the real and momentous documentary.
