Description

World Wide Maze is created with the technologies of WebGL, WebSocket, and Chrome's Tab Sync function.

WebGL and WebSocket are technologies open to the public.

Tab Sync is also a generally known technology. However, we used it to connect PC and mobile, which was a novel way of using it.

Moreover, when developing the server, we were using the beta version of Google Compute Engine.

Execution

By using WebSocket, WebGL, and Chrome's new Tab Sync feature, we created a game where you can turn any website into a 3D maze, and play it using your smartphone. The stages were generated from actual websites using an original program. Every stage should still resemble the original site, but had to look fun, and also entertaining as a gaming stage.

Outcome

It has only been a few days since the launch, but World Wide Maze has already generated a huge buzz on social media. Millions of people experienced the internet in a whole new way, thanks to the power of Chrome.
