BriefExplanation

Bees. They make honey, they pollinate your garden, and their demise could mean the end of human life. In this short documentary, we join scientist Paulo De Souza in his attempt to save the bees. De Souza attaches sensors to hundreds of bees, and Edison’s immense compute power allows him to track their movements and identify threats to their livelihood. Sharing De Souza’s mission highlights how technology is powering a better world. This film isn’t branded content; it’s true content that naturally has the Intel brand in it.

EntrySummary

Beehive collapse is a worldwide issue, and it’s one that affects us all personally as we rely on bee pollination for our food. But no one is talking about it, and no one knows why it’s happening. About three-quarters of the world’s food crops—including fruits, vegetables, and coffee—depend on pollination by bees, butterflies, beetles, and other species of pollinators, according to a breakthrough United Nations report. The report said that between U.S. $235 billion and U.S. $577 billion worth of annual global food production relies on direct contributions by pollinators, including 20,000 species of bees.

If we don’t have bees, we won’t have food. So Intel set out to tell the story of how technology is helping to solve the problem.
