Effectiveness
Soon, news outlets and blogs across the country latched onto the idea. The bottles themselves became instant collector’s items … selling for double their amount on eBay. Jones saw the power of their brand promise and experienced their most successful product launch ever as Americans happily put their money where their mouth was … literally.
Execution
Rather than create an ad campaign to get people involved in the brand, we created Campaign Cola - a line of limited-edition sodas representing each of the major candidates: Obama’s “Yes We Can” cola, “Pure McCain”, Capitol Hillary and even Ron Paul Revolution.More than just a new product line, these sodas provided a new, honest way for people to have their voices heard and “vote” for their candidate through each purchase. We launched the program with an aggressive PR campaign along with outreach to each of the campaigns themselves. We used the power of social media to build involvement and interest – found only at campaigncola.com. As our hub, the site kept tabs on “the vote.” Along with up-to-the-minute results people could find more information on each candidate’s positions, weigh in on the issues, register to vote and strike up a debate in an open Jones forum.
