For Strava users, their data is everything. It represents their achievements, records and goals.
Personalised video is difficult on mobile, but we crafted a solution that meant every unique video was available instantly on any device.
MediaStrategy
With this project, we aimed to push the boundaries of video personalisation with real-time data, at scale, and deliver a unique video based entirely on real-time user data.
Using our bespoke RITA video platform, we created a unique video for over 1 Million Strava users.
The videos were available instantly on mobile, and used data visualisation techniques equivalent to sophisticated post production
Outcome
Over 1 Million unique videos were created in just a few days, with 50% of videos shared organically, creating significant increase in brand awareness amongst the cycling and running community online.
Relevancy
We created a data-driven campaign that allowed every Strava athlete to showcase their personal achievements in a unique, beautifully crafted film.
All data featured in the film is dynamic and was generated in real-time, and was created in the user’s own language.
Strategy
The Strava community is fearlessly competitive. By creating a unique film for every athlete, we aimed to give individual bragging rights to each user and promote organic sharing.
A promotion for the campaign was sent to every Strava user through the Strava app, driving them to create their own film with a single push of a button.
Synopsis
Strava is the social network for athletes — an app that helps runners and cyclists track their activities.
Strava users set new goals and objectives every new year. We created a unique personalised film that tells the story of every Strava athlete's 2016, celebrating their achievements publicly, and promoting further use of the app in 2017.
