ASICS was founded by Kihachiro Onitsuka in Kobe in 1949. The Japanese origin differentiates the brand from its competitors.

ASICS is the abbreviation for the Latin saying Anima Sana in Corpore Sano, which means "A sound mind in a sound body".

The corporate PR package should demonstrate the core brand values of ASICS towards journalists, retailers, athletes and sporting associations.
