Write a short summary of what happens in the film

The film is the launch piece for Woolmark's new live and breathe campaign.

It takes aim at the global tensions around our new obsession with synthetics and seeks to remind people that Merino wool’s natural qualities make it the original performance fibre.

The centrepiece is a film that tells the story of a synthetic world that has forgotten how to live naturally. Instead of embracing natural fabrics, its people wear artificial, unbreathable clothing made from the coats of a strange new breed of synthetic sheep.

After a chance encounter, our heroine escapes this artificial world in a pure merino wool outfit – she discovers a world where she can live and breathe.

Cultural/Context information for the jury

The creative was born from the strategic idea: When you wear wool, your body can breathe more, which liberates you to do more.

The film is set in a world that's just the opposite, one that’s forgotten to live naturally. One that is distracted by restrictive, unbreathable new synthetics.

The work ran in global markets - the UK, USA, and Japan - places that are already beginning to feel the environmental impact of our overuse of synthetics.

Tell the jury about the production design/art direction. You may wish to comment on choices, challenges or effects.

• Over 150 unique all plastic outfits and masks were tailored for the cast, a cornucopia synthetic colours and squeaky fabrics. Likewise the city of Kiev was dressed in over 1000 meters of industrial coloured pipe, delicately snaking around some of world's most famous Brutalist architecture. Finally, how we created real wearable coats for an entire flock of Merino sheep, made from thousands of pieces of plastic trash. The coats had to be stunning but also lightweight and comfortable for the sheep, a feat achieved by collaborating with veterinary experts, veteran sheep farmers and prop makers. The end result is a synthetic world that crackles with texture and believe ability that could only be achieved with such extensive in camera craft.
