To promote its patio season, Boston Pizza created miniature patio chairs to match the iconic “pizza saver” tables that come in its takeout boxes. The chairs were custom 3D printed using food safe materials and delivered with orders from select locations. Imagery of the patio set was then amplified on social media.
Cultural/Context information for the jury
Canadian winters are notoriously brutal. That’s why in the summer, Canadians flock to outdoor restaurant patios to enjoy the good weather. It’s such a cultural phenomenon that summer has become known in Canada as “patio season”.
