Description

This short film propose a discovery of the universe of the Louis Vuitton City Guides (film version of the Louis Vuitton City Guide) through a playful and imaginative direction and art direction. They invite the viewer to a stylish and sensitive approach of travel through a selection of adresses in a given city. During less than 3 minutes, the viewer discovers unexpected places of a city. The vision of travel is more like an experience of the very essence of a city than a discovery of addresses. For each short film a precise subject whether uncommon or not, is given at the beginning of the video.

Execution

Each year the Louis Vuitton City Guides videos are revealed online between September and December. The short films are proposed on Louis Vuitton channel in YouTube, then on Facebook and Twitter. The videos are also used on www.louisvuitton.com, where a City Guides focus is proposed during the launch of the new cities in October/November: http://uk.louisvuitton.com/eng-gb/stories/city-guide-w.

Outcome

In December 2014 the publication of the new City Guides online videos (Istanbul, Shanghai, Singapore, Milan) generated more than 1 million views online. As an example the video on Istanbul now reaches more than 360 000 views on Louis Vuitton YouTube channel. The first impact is a strong increase of the e-reputation online and the ability to sensitize a larger audience with a international profile. The offbeat tone, the choice of using a off-screen voice and the creativity of the films have succeeded to catch the attention of different populations looking for new and original contents.
