Description
The 2 litre packaging for Coca-Cola North America was designed as part of the overall packaging system strategy to return simplicity and clarity to the Coca-Cola brand.
Execution
The condensation and extraneous elements were stripped away to reveal the large Coca-Cola script. We replaced the traditional illustrated condensation bubbles with the oversized iconic script logo to provide a billboard effect when multiple bottles were placed together on shelf. The result was a refreshing take on typically standard packaging.
Outcome
In a three-city in-market test, the 7.5oz can had double digit purchase increases in comparison to the previous small-sized can. It is too soon to tell the results of the 16oz can; however, both had overwhelmingly positive results in qualitative testing with teens, enabling new, more positive perceptions of the brand.
