In order to position Walmart as the destination retailer for madden NFL 09, 'Got it Faster' was made with the idea of attracting the built in audience at Maddenpalooza to the Walmart booths stocked with Madden NFL 09 prior to the wide release of the product.
Director Brian Aldrich, filmed the commercial using adjacent sets to give the commercial a feeling of authenticity. Utilizing improvized conversation at times in order to bring out the in the moment banter.
Outcome
The event was spotlighted by live telecasts from ESPN, NFL Network and Spike TV with additional coverage by over 120 National Media outlets. To help promote this important occasion, EA partnered with former NFL great Dion Sanders, a.k.a. “Prime Time,” for a full-day media blitz.
