Description
Let’s delete the boundaries of the summer festivals. We created FestivalBuddy, a taylormade telepresence platform where you could enter the greatest festivals from anywhere. By logging in through our mobile app or the microsite, you could taste the festival fun for 5 minutes.
All you had to do was choose from one of the 3 Buddies, enter the queue and wait for your turn before taking control. So Festival Buddy provided a very unique, authentic and instant way to experience a reliable service, Telekom’s 4G mobile network. The platform was specifically tailored for festivals, with which people could experience live, how magical a reliable 4G connection can be.
Execution
Trough festivalbuddy.hu or our mobile app people could connect to the Buddies, control them (e.g.: squirt gun, show thumbs up and make selfies- and interact with the festival people). Or they could simply follow the live video stream from this very unique, POV angle, which was basically a live, user generated, branded content. The stream caught also the media’s attention, so major Hungarian news portals embedded our video links. Our Buddies were the perfect facilitators of connection and sharing, initiating countless fun interactions between people. Also the new mobile wallet payment service was embedded as a function, so people were able to invite other from a distance and seeing an active product demo with a true benefit
Outcome
The Festival Buddies managed to attract people's attention inside the festivals, so people were happy to interact with a brand, willingly. And outside of the festival? During the 3 festivals (52 active hours) we had 2000 connections established, and we managed to show the festivals from a unique angle to 54.000 people. It was so successful that it will be continued next year.
