Description
BACKGROUND: Many children skip school because they work from an early age. Save the Children organises an auction of designer-made Christmas trees to raise money and support their education. TARGET: Romania’s top designers. They like to think they are important for the society, but they step back when it comes to prove it. CHALLENGE: Convince these designers to support the education of working kids, by creating pro bono a best-selling Christmas tree.
Execution
The designer received two letters. A black one from hell and a white one from heaven.
The black letter demands that the designer stays out when children need help, whereas the white letter gives the designer the power of choice. So, the designer is facing a decision: to choose between good and evil. Will he help the children, or will he sign the black pact?
Outcome
The auction of trees created by the designers raised a record amount of $902,685, 152% more than the previous year.
