TBWA\MEDIA ARTS LAB, Los Angeles / APPLE / 2017
Apple reminds the world that the positive impact of acceptance and inclusion never fades with a holiday spin on a centuries-old fable. The story of Frankenstein gets a new, uplifting ending in this film for the holiday season. ‘Frankie’ leaves his secluded mountain cabin to join the village below in the annual winter celebration. Taking a leap of faith, despite his feelings of ‘otherness,’ he timidly begins to sing “Home for the Holidays.” He is not a hit. But a child, seeing a friend in need instead of a monster, takes up the tune. The duet turns into a joyful chorus. And for a heart-melting moment, the crowd embraces the outsider they fear the most. The story reminds us that, especially during the holidays, we should open our hearts to everyone.
