The trailer represents a new introduction to Kratos, the vengeful hero of Sony's hugely successful God of War video game franchise in advance of the release of it's latest entry, God of War: Ascension. Until now, Kratos has been known largely for his capacity to visit violence on his enemies. In this trailer, we set out to expose the viewers and fans to more of his human side and introduce him as the man he was before he became the “Ghost of Sparta.” As in the game, this is done by way of pieces of his origin myth to give us a sense of the true pathos of his story.
